How to Store Your Baked Goods So They Stay Fresh (From a Baker Who Knows!)

We get asked all the time at Olivia’s Goodie Shop: “How long will this last?” or “Should I refrigerate this?” And honestly—it’s a great question. So I thought I’d share a few quick tips straight from the bakery to help you keep your treats fresher, longer (if they last that long!).

1. Cupcakes & Cakes

– Room temp: 1–2 days if they’re unfrosted or buttercream-topped

– Fridge: Up to 5 days (cover to keep from drying out)

– Tip: Let refrigerated cupcakes come to room temp before eating for best texture!

2. Bread (White, Sourdough, Rolls)

– Room temp: 2–4 days, stored in a bread bag or wrapped in foil

– Freezer: Slice and freeze for up to 3 months

– Tip: Never store fresh bread in the fridge—it dries out faster than on the counter!

3. Cookies

– Room temp: 3–5 days in an airtight container

– Freezer: Raw dough or baked cookies freeze beautifully!

– Tip: Pop a slice of sandwich bread in the cookie container to keep them soft longer.

4. Cinnamon Rolls

– Room temp: 1–2 days (if unfrosted), 3–4 days in the fridge

– Reheat Tip: Microwave for 10–15 seconds with a damp paper towel for gooey magic.

If you ever have questions about storing or reheating something you picked up from us, just ask! We want your treats to be just as perfect at home as they are in the shop.

And hey—if you accidentally eat the whole box in one day… no judgment. We’ve all been there.

With love and a little flour dust,

Monica
